Jim McMahon has invited twenty wounded warriors, celebrity guests and many others to his Super Bowl celebration on Thursday, Feb 2nd at the Rathskeller in Indianapolis.

During the live feed, Jim and some of his celebrity guests will be able to chat with the soldiers and learn what the soldiers have been working towards in Afghanistan. The live feed would be with the 4-19th ADT serving in Khost Province in Afghanistan. They are working in a very dangerous part of Afghanistan to help the farmers there. Afghanistan was once a major world agricultural economy, much like California. Most of it has been destroyed by war, long before the US invaded. These soldiers are working to help them reclaim that agricultural economy and heritage. There are more than a dozen National Guard units that have been staffed with soldier-farmers, guardsmen with a civilian background in agriculture. This feed is going to be one of the most special things any one does Super Bowl week!

WXIN-TV, Fox59 will be coordinating the Live Feed and bringing everyone together at Jim McMahon’s event.

After divorce or the end of a long-term relationship, men tend to live alone for about three months before pairing up again. An article in the New York Times (http://nyti.ms/xROf0u) takes a look at some reasons why women seem to be happier than men after divorce – and the Pew Research center recently confirmed it’s easier for women to bounce back after divorce than it has been (http://bit.ly/yzL71H). Dr. Bonnie Eaker Weil suggests that men tend to think of themselves as the independent one on the relationship, “but what they often find is that they’re actually dependent on the woman in their life.” When that woman is gone, they begin the quest to find someone to fill that role.

Though not always the case, men often “don’t know what they’ve got till it’s gone,” offers Dr. Bonnie. “They don’t realize that women do a lot of things which are integral parts of life, but which they take for granted.” Women tend to take charge of the social calendar, to nurture the relationship, to take care of a myriad of details. In this way, men need women but sometimes don’t want to admit it. Which can make being single after a long-term relationship that much harder.

“This comes from the wound they have from childhood,” explains Dr. Bonnie, “when they’re separating from their mother and learning to be masculine. But often this happens before they’re truly ready and into adulthood they continue to seek out women who can fill this nurturing void.”

While women naturally do better after a split, that doesn’t mean that men can’t rebound healthfully – and it’s imperative that they do, cautions Dr. Bonnie. “Since so many second marriages also end in divorce, they need to think especially hard before jumping right back into the relationship game.” Men should ask themselves what they want and need in their next partner to discover what, if any, voids they’re trying to fill. “Instead of spending energy after a breakup looking for the next relationship, men should take that time to work on themselves and how to grow as a person in the areas where they may have been relying on their partner,” says Dr. Bonnie.

Jordan Levin, former CEO of The WB Television Network and current head of multiplatform media company Generate (Web hits “PINK ,” “Republicrats”), returns to The WB as an executive producer of “The Lake,” a new Web drama series directed by Jason Priestley (“90210,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”) for TheWB.com from Generate and Studio 2.0, Warner Bros. Television Group’s digital venture for original programming. Levin is executive producing the series with fellow Generate partners Pete Aronson and Michael Petok. Created and written by Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin (upcoming “Defying Gravity”), the ambitious serialized drama has begun production and will premiere on TheWB.com on August 10, 2009, along with its own digital Metaverse which will create a rich interactive cross-platform experience for viewers. “The Lake” will have an initial run of 12 episodes, each between seven and 10 minutes in length.

Jason Priestley, best known for his role as Brandon Walsh on the original “Beverly Hills 90210,” adds “The Lake” to his directing credits, which also include episodes of “Beverly Hills 90210,” the current “90210″ and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”

The series was cast by Jami Rudofsky, who also cast the acclaimed “Gilmore Girls” and who worked with “The Lake” writers Lavender and Ulin on casting for a pilot at The CW.

“The Lake” features a cast of up-and-coming Hollywood stars. Heather Ann Davis will portray Olivia, making her first visit to Lake Eleanor, while Elisa Donovan (“Clueless,” “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch”) will star as Olivia’s aunt, Leslie. Amy Stewart (“Monkey Love”) and Drew Van Acker (“Castle”) appear as socialite mother and son Sondra and Ryan Welling. Mim Drew (“United States of Tara”), Mark Totty (“Joan of Arcadia”), Samantha Cope (“Movin’ In”), Devin Crittenden (“Disaster Movie”) and Erica Dasher star as members of the Davenport clan, a blended family rich with history and rivalries. Robb Derringer (“Imagine That”), Nick Thurston (“S.E.R.E.”) and Meredith Dilg star as Jack, Luke and Shelby Campbell, a local working class family reminded every day that while they live with the seasonal residents at Lake Eleanor, they are from an entirely different world.

Episodes of “The Lake” will air on TheWB.com starting August 10, and the characters will also reach far and wide across multiple digital platforms with the series’ comprehensive Metaverse. Selected Shorts, the acclaimed short story series broadcast nationally on public radio, has released a 3-disc set of witty short fiction entitled Even More Laughs. Recorded live from Symphony Space in New York City, the Selected Shorts program pairs celebrated authors with prominent actors reading their work, and the CD collections draw from some of the most memorable performances.

The Even More Laughs collection includes performances by Stephen Colbert, Alec Baldwin, Robert Sean Leonard, Parker Posey, Christine Baranski, and more.
