About The People’s Games http://www.PeoplesGames.com

THE PEOPLE’S GAMES is a new brand of sport in America. It is an original and unique concept which provides an opportunity for the common man to represent their city in sporting competition against rival cities. It’s an opportunity for real people…teachers, taxi drivers, policemen, janitors, waiters, etc…to live out their dream of playing in a big time sporting event, representing their family, neighborhood, and city in pursuit of the thrill of victory.

THE PEOPLE’S GAMES recaptures the way sports used to be…when it was about heart, passion, and teamwork…played by people of varying backgrounds, race, religion, and social status…in short, when people played for “the love of the game”, not for money or fame.

Unlike other competitions, players on a team must come from the city for which they play. THE PEOPLE’S GAMES are the antithesis of professional sports.

About the nationally-televised games

Eleven nationally-televised games, including as many as seven prime contests on ESPN, highlight Kansas State’s 16-game Big 12 Conference schedule released by league officials on Tuesday.

The 11 national television contests include four previously announced games on ESPN’s Big Monday as well as road games against Texas A&M on Jan. 22 (1 p.m.) and Kansas (TBA) on Jan. 29 and a home contest against Missouri on Feb. 26 (TBA) on the network. The package also includes two appearances on ESPN2 and three more on ESPNU. For the first time, all 16 conference games will be available on the ESPN family of networks or the Big 12 Network.

In the past five seasons, the Wildcats have made 47 national television appearances on ABC Sports, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or Fox Sports Net compared to just five the previous six years combined.

In addition to these national telecasts, K-State will have five regular season games broadcast as a part of the Big 12 Conference Television network, beginning with the home game with Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 12:30 p.m. The network will also televise home games with Nebraska on Feb. 2 (7 p.m.), Oklahoma on Feb. 19 (3 p.m.) and Iowa State on March 5 (12:30 p.m.) and the road tilt with Iowa State on Feb.5 (12:30 p.m.).

“Playing 16 conference games will again be another daunting task,” said head coach Frank Martin. “Coupled with the opportunities to play 11 of those on national television, including four on ESPN’s “Big Monday”, will provide tremendous challenges and opportunities for the continued growth of our program.”

]]>

K-State tips off Big 12 play on the road against NCAA Tournament participant Oklahoma State before a national audience on ESPN2 on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. It will mark the first conference opener against the Cowboys since 1999. Overall, the squads have met eight other times in league openers since 1959, including six times in Stillwater. The contest with OSU will be one of nine against teams that advanced to the postseason in 2009-10, including eight that went to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats will open Big 12 play at home against Colorado on Jan. 12 on ESPNU at 8 p.m. The squad will also host four games against teams that advanced to the postseason a year ago, including nationally-televised contests with Baylor (Jan. 24) and Kansas (Feb. 14) on ESPN’s Big Monday.

Season tickets for Kansas State’s entire 18-game home schedule are currently on sale. Season ticket packages start at 5 for bench seating, while Cat Cushion and Chairback pricing starts at 5 and 5, respectively. There are also a limited number of Young Alumni packages priced at 0, which are available for all K-State undergraduate degree recipients in the past five years (August 2006 to August 2010). An Ahearn Fund contribution is required for all premium, Chairback and cushioned seating.

Current season ticket holders will have until Tuesday, Aug. 31 to renew their seats. Early-bird savings of off the processing fee is available for those renewing their tickets online by Friday, Aug. 13 and paying in full utilizing eCheck. Fans may also take advantage of two credit card payment plans, including a five-payment option (Aug. 16, Sept. 15, Oct. 15, Nov. 15 and Dec. 15) for those who renew by Aug. 13 and a four-payment choice for those who purchase by Aug. 31.

New season ticket holders should complete the season ticket application available on the front page of www.k-statesports.com, or by calling the K-State Athletic Ticket Office toll-free at (800) 221.CATS. The ticket office will contact applicants with available ticket locations in order of the athletic department’s priority points system in mid-September.

The Website http://www.the-trivia.com Sets a New Era in Trivia Games on the Web

The Website http://www.the-trivia.com Sets a New Era in Trivia Games on the Web

(PRWEB) April 13, 2005

Just think, how many times have you sat in front of the T.V. screen, watching shows such as “Who wants to be a millionaire” or “King of the Trivia”, and thought to yourself, ‘If I could only participate in the game, I know all the answers!’, many times, I have no doubt.

The http://www.the-trivia.com website will fulfill this wish for you.

This is a web-site for interactive Trivia games, in which games are played against other Trivia opponents from all over the world. The web-site includes tens of thousands of questions, in a variety of subjects: geography, sport, History, cinema etc.

The site, in its’ current format, has been made active in 2005, and registers tens of thousands of trivia-fans members, that spend many quality, enriching and enjoyable hours, playing the game on the web.

Today, the website contains 2 kinds of trivia games, the first one is the “Trivia Race”, having each player play against one opponent, each victory advancing him another stage. Obviously, as one advances, each stage presents more challenging (smarter) opponents. There are a total of 14 stages to pass, but you can stop at any stage and collect the award.

The second game is the “Trivia Rings”, in which each player contests against a group of opponent trivia players. Each round’s winner is the one that correctly answers the maximum questions in the shortest time possible, and the one who will win the prize. Trivia games can grant prizes up to 10,000$ per game, and obviously, the only condition for winning is the knowledge level of the player.

So you really think you’re so smart?…. see you at the web-site.

Let the Games (Expo) Begin

Let the Games (Expo) Begin

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 20, 2007

The games get underway today at Games Expo 2007, the games industry’s first 4-day trade show, exposition and conference devoted entirely to all types of non-electronic games.

Playing all day Monday through Thursday, March 19-22, in the gaming capital of the world, Las Vegas, at the South Point Hotel & Casino, Games Expo is the first game industry trade show to include the total consumer game styles, from family and party games to educational, classic and hobby games. Game Expo is putting them all under one roof in a dynamic display of strategy, fun, and social interactivity.

Mark Simmons, founder of Games Expo and owner of MSM, organizers the event, said, “It took two years to develop Games Expo and merge the games industry into one exciting show. It is gratifying to see the enthusiasm from the retailers and exhibitors as the industry gathers for the benefit of everyone involved in the serious business of games.”

According to the industry’s standard reference, Games Quarterly Catalog, there are more than 42,000 games and game-related accessories offered by game publishers, which combine to make up the $ 4 billion games industry. With games now being sold at many non-traditional retail outlets, game publishers are required to reach out to even more sales routes, while game retailers also need to acquire more knowledge about the products and programs of the publishers.

Games Expo identifies the categories of board games, cards, role play, miniatures, family, party, educational, trivia and other socially interactive, face-to-face games, and gathers game and game-related manufacturers, marketers, and distributors from all over the world to exhibit to retailers and buyers.

While the general public cannot attend Games Expo, the exposition is open to media, industry analysts, store owners and buyers, as well as National Games Week® members- individuals, educators, and organizations who hosted events each year. National Games Week®, which Simmons founded in 2003, is an annual celebration of socially interactive games held during the week of Thanksgiving.

Complete information on Games Expo and National Games Week is available at http://www.GamesExpo2007.net and http://www.nationalgamesweek.net.
